The 13th awarding ceremony of the Iran section was held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Research Institute of Communication and Information Technology, and in this ceremony, the IEEE student branch of the University of Kurdistan was recognized as a commendable branch. It should be noted that during this period, the chairman of the branch was Mr. Hessamuddin Moedi, the vice-chairman of the branch was Mr. Shayan Nasiri Boukani, and Mr. Morteza Hosseini and Payam Qavami worked as the treasurer and secretary of the branch, respectively.

In this ceremony, the student branch of K. N. Toosi University was declared as the best branch, the student branches of University of Kurdistan Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Tehran University were announced as commendable.

Also, in this ceremony, Dr. Heiman Golpira, the former consultant professor of the branch, was introduced as the best young researcher in Iran.
