707 Papers Submitted to the 14th Iranian Horticultural Science Congress
The Scientific Secretary of the 14th Iranian Horticultural Science Congress announced that 707 papers were submitted to the secretariat of this scientific event, stating that 107 papers were accepted for oral presentation and 591 for poster presentation.
According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, Mahmoud Koushesh-Saba stated on Monday, June 8, 2026, during the 14th Iranian Horticultural Science Congress: "This congress was first held in 1978 in Karaj, and this year, the University of Kurdistan was selected to host the 14th edition."
He added that 13 specialized axes were defined for this edition, with the majority of received papers focusing on the management of biotic and abiotic stresses, climate change, and horticultural crop production.
The Scientific Secretary of the Congress, referring to the peer-review results, noted: "A total of 707 papers were submitted to the secretariat of the 14th Iranian Horticultural Science Congress. Of these, 107 were accepted for oral presentation, 591 for poster presentation, and 59 papers did not meet the necessary criteria for acceptance."
He emphasized that the review process was conducted scientifically by specialized reviewers, ensuring that evaluations were based on rigorous academic standards.
Koushesh-Saba also announced the holding of eight specialized sessions on the sidelines of the congress, stating: "These sessions are designed to establish effective communication between academia, the production sector, and industry. They cover topics such as greenhouses and climate change, challenges in strawberry production and supply, saffron, pistachio, green spaces, olives, as well as agricultural education in the era of artificial intelligence."
He further noted that the congress is attended by over 400 faculty members, more than 150 PhD students, 100 Master's students, and a group of undergraduate students, with several researchers also participating virtually.
