The 14th Iranian Horticultural Science Congress Commences at the University of Kurdistan

The 14th Iranian Horticultural Science Congress was officially inaugurated today, Monday, June 8, hosted by the University of Kurdistan. This scientific event is scheduled to continue until June 10.

According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, the congress is being held with the participation of distinguished professors, researchers in horticultural sciences, executive managers, producers, students, as well as domestic and international experts, to examine the latest scientific and research achievements in the field.

During this three-day event, key themes such as climate change, the water crisis, environmental stresses, production management, the development of horticultural and medicinal plants, and the application of modern technologies in the agricultural sector are being discussed.

The program includes specialized sessions with experts, the presentation of scientific papers, and the facilitation of interaction between academia, the executive sector, and producers.

Organizers have stated that the primary objectives of this scientific gathering are to enhance productivity in the horticulture sector, expand scientific collaboration, and contribute to resolving the challenges facing the nation's agriculture.

Notably, the opening ceremony featured a special tribute to the veterans and prominent figures of horticultural sciences in the country.
